Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Adults)

This is the first of three levels of vocational qualification available for people working in health and social care with adults and is suitable for anyone who is undertaking routine daily tasks under the guidance and supervision of another senior member of the team e.g. a care assistant, support worker or domiciliary care worker.

You could be working in any type of health or social care setting for example, a nursing home, a residential care home, a day centre or in the community in the persons' own home.

Your typical day-to-day activities would include tasks such as supporting people to manage their daily living activities e.g. washing and dressing; preparing their meals; eating; going out; shopping and taking their medicines. It could also include finding out about activities and services in their area and helping them to use these. You may also be providing more physical support such as making the person comfortable; supporting them to move around; monitoring how well they are; supporting them when they are distressed or working with informal carers to support the person in their own home.

If this sounds like the types of task you carry out every day you are at work then a Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Adults) is the right qualification for you.
