Employer Case Studies

Case Study One

Dave Richardson is the learning and development manager at Ashcroft Care Services.

"Training is critical at Ashcroft and goes far beyond the standard. It's essential for us as a business that all our employees receive the right training.

We met a number of training providers but no one else matched the professionalism of Revolutions. The Revolutions Assessors have helped to inspire confidence in our staff, particularly those who didn't think they had the ability to train and pass assessments. At one time we had two candidates working with another provider - who went bust - and we expected both candidates to be reluctant to start again. Yet after just one meeting with a Revolutions Assessor, they were both fired up and ready to go again.

What makes Revolutions stand out is that they always do what they say they do, when they say they will do it. Eleanor is always approachable, informative and willing to help. She's also helped us find new ways to tap into funding. It's been very reassuring to work with a training provider who is so professional.

Normally the cost of NVQ's means that we can only start groups every six months or so but the funding from Train to Gain has reduced that to every three-four months. Passing an NVQ has shown some staff that they are far more capable than they give themselves credit for, plus we've had several people who have finished a Level 2, only to ask to do a Level 3 straight away."

Case Study Two

Sharon Borrett is the practice development trainer at Southdown Housing Association.

"We use Revolutions to provide NVQ assessment for staff once they have completed our in-house induction and core training.

Working with Revolutions has been a very positive experience for both management and staff. The 'paper free' assessment method has been very popular with candidates and has certainly made the process more enjoyable for them. It's put the emphasis back where it belongs: candidates showing their skills and knowledge by demonstrating good practice.

All our candidates and their managers speak very highly of the Revolutions Assessors. We now have staff asking when they can do their NVQ, which is something that did not tend to happen in the days of the paper portfolio. Some of our staff did not previously have a positive educational experience, but have really had their confidence boosted by gaining an NVQ.

We have a strong commitment to staff learning and development at Southdown Housing Association. Revolutions has played an important part in helping us to provide professional qualifications to both staff and managers."
